Artist Statement
As a career maintenance officer who was lucky to mostly be on fighters, I love them all - but the F-16 Viper is my favorite. I’m sure a contributing factor is that my husband flew Vipers for the duration of his AF career, and now my work in the Colorado Air National Guard continues on the beautiful Fighting Falcon. It only seemed fitting to try and capture her in flight in Colorado-esque skies - and of course, why wouldn’t she be hot pink?
About the Artist
A fired up cadet from the Class of 2001, Col Jamie Pieper currently serves in the Colorado Air National Guard as a Maintenance Group Commander, where her superstar maintainers keep the oldest F-16 fighter jets in the USAF inventory safely flying. She lives in Parker, Colorado, with her husband, a retired fighter pilot and entrepreneur, their three children and their Australian Bernedoodle.
