Our Story

In 2023, a passionate group came together with a vision: to connect, inspire, and celebrate the incredible journey of women who have attended the United States Air Force Academy. Sparked by the realization that 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of women entering the academies in 1976, we aim to honor this historical milestone and the remarkable achievements of USAFA women over the decades. USAFA Women was born from the shared understanding that the bond among USAFA alumnae is unique and powerful. Whether it's the shared experiences or the unique challenges faced by women through the academy, service, and family life, this connection is profound and enduring. Our goal is to create a lasting network that unites and inspires USAFA women across all generations. In 2023, we established ourselves as an affinity group with the USAFA Association of Graduates (AOG). This partnership enables us to coordinate a variety of activities, with the AOG serving as our primary point of contact with USAFA. We are also collaborating with the four other U.S Service Academies to celebrate 50 years of women at all these institutions. Our partnerships extend beyond the academies to prestigious institutions such as the Library of Congress and the Military Women Veterans Memorial, ensuring that our stories and achievements are preserved and honored. In 2024, we further solidified our commitment by becoming an independent nonprofit 501c3 organization. This status allows us to pursue initiatives beyond the scope of the AOG and USAFA, expanding our reach and impact.

Our Logo

The logo symbolizes unity across USAFA generations, blending modernized versions of the Prop and Wings, the Cadet Chapel, and our class colors. Designed by Rachel Stevens (https://rs1819.com), it honors our Air Force and U.S. Army Air Corps heritage with a modern twist: a silver propeller transforming into a rocket, representing the embrace of the newest service, Space Force. The design elegantly incorporates our class colors, reflecting our continued evolution beyond our academy days. As we look to the sky, the deeper blue hues remind us of our enduring connection to the past while embracing the future. In the background, the triangular shapes evoke the iconic silhouette of the USAFA Cadet Chapel's soaring spires. The architect's visionary design inspires us to push boundaries and embrace innovation as we look toward the future.
