Oh Thus Be It Ever

Artist Statement
Throughout my childhood Mom sang the 4th verse of the Star-Spangled Banner to my brother and me pretty much every night, just after reading to us at bedtime. In July 2004, when I was 9 years old, I created this piece to commemorate the patriotic spirit throughout our family and household. I knew this verse by heart (and I thought everyone else knew it too). Years later Mom shared with me that all cadets learn the 4th verse during their first year at USAFA.
About the Artist

Matt is an adventurer, much like both of his grandfathers. He travels around the world to climb mountains and experience different cultures. Matt is a civilian and proudly serves on the USAA team as an actuary.
