Women of the Bible Quilt

Andi Standfield

Textile/Fiber art

66 H x 53 W

Artist Statement
My USAFA roommate was stationed in Hungary and I lived in Arizona. We decided to work on this quilt simultaneously, using a blog to share instructions. Each block is a representation of a woman in the Bible, and we completed a 52-week study along with the quilt. I took my family to Europe to visit Tania in the middle of the project. Tania’s faith has always been an inspiration to me. This quilt represents the contributions of women throughout history and the connections of faith and friendship.
About the Artist
After serving in the US Air Force, Andi settled n the Phoenix, AZ area, close to her parents. She met her husband there and raised their daughter. Andi learned to quilt when her mother opened a yarn and fabric store. Quilting, teaching, and pattern design give her a way to express her creativity in fabric and thread.
