Sexual Assault Survivor Renewal and Recovery Retreat Sponsorship
USAFA Women is sponsoring sexual assault survivors to attend the 2026 Renewal and Recovery Retreat conducted by Rooted Within, which is a separate nonprofit that serves female veterans who are committed to their full recovery from stressful and/or traumatic experiences. (www.rootedwithin.org)
We need donors and funds to make the 2026 Retreat happen. USAFA Women, a 501c3 organization has pledged to raise funds to sponsor TWO USAFA survivors. The cost is $4,800 per participant so our total goal is $9,600.
Rooted Within is a nonprofit organization that has been serving women Veterans since 2011. In collaboration with USAFA Women, ZASA, and similar groups from our sister Military Service Academies (MSAs), Rooted Within is planning a focused Renewal & Recovery Retreat in October 2026 to support 24 sexual assault survivors who have attended any of the four U.S. military service academies.
This 5-night, 6-day trauma-informed retreat integrates neuroscience-based trauma recovery and stress management techniques, including meditation, breath-work, somatic intelligence, trust-building, and meaningful peer connections within a supportive community. Participants, many of whom have experienced PTSD symptoms, will find strength in one another while learning practical tools and skills to aid their healing and renewal.

This 2026 retreat is the second in what we hope to be an annual event. Through financial support from many of you, Rooted Within was able to safely and successfully run the First-Ever Renewal and Recovery Retreat in Oct 2024 for 22 Women survivors of sexual assault who attended a Military Service Academy (MSA). We want to help even more survivors begin their path to healing!
