Sexual Assault Survivor Renewal and Recovery Retreat Sponsorship
USAFA Women is sponsoring sexual assault survivors to attend the 2026 Renewal and Recovery Retreat conducted by Rooted Within, which is a separate nonprofit that serves female veterans who are committed to their full recovery from stressful and/or traumatic experiences. (www.rootedwithin.org)
We need donors and funds to make the 2026 Retreat happen. USAFA Women, a 501c3 organization has pledged to raise funds to sponsor TWO USAFA survivors. The cost is $4,800 per participant so our total goal is $9,600.
Rooted Within is a nonprofit organization that has been serving women Veterans since 2011. In collaboration with USAFA Women, ZASA, and similar groups from our sister Military Service Academies (MSAs), Rooted Within is planning a focused Renewal & Recovery Retreat in October 2026 to support 24 sexual assault survivors who have attended any of the four U.S. military service academies.
This 5-night, 6-day trauma-informed retreat integrates neuroscience-based trauma recovery and stress management techniques, including meditation, breath-work, somatic intelligence, trust-building, and meaningful peer connections within a supportive community. Participants, many of whom have experienced PTSD symptoms, will find strength in one another while learning practical tools and skills to aid their healing and renewal.

The 2026 retreat will be Rooted Within's third annual event. Thanks to the generous financial support of so many of you, the Renewal and Recovery Retreats in October 2024 and October 2025 ran safely and successfully for women survivors of sexual assault from across the Military Service Academies. With your help this year, we can extend that healing to even more survivors who deserve the chance to begin again.
